Well, it seems that the most skillful trigger puller from New York to San Francisco was finally easily ridiculed by a facetious old man (unless it was this good Lucky Luke in disguise?) and that after being sent to the horse trough, Phil felt an urgent need to have a new suit tailored. When you have a reputation as a killer to preserve, it is unthinkable to show up in a shrunken suit.
It is to highlight the impressive size of this character, to whom Morris lends the features of the actor Jack Palance, that we have chosen to represent this sequence. Contrast assured between the tiny tailor forced to climb on a stepladder to take the measurements of the terror Phil Defer.
It is with Morris's lively and expressive drawings in mind that David has given volume to this encounter. And always with a radical approach : volumes, dynamism, treatment of folds and colorization are exclusively at the service of the Art of Morris.
